3 for 3 in the off-season
3 for 3 in the off-season
2009
Tucson, AZ: October 18th, 2009
2009 has seen Arie Luyendyk Jr. hit the broadcast booth, but now that the IndyCar season is over it’s back to the track and back to his karting roots. Over the coarse of three race weekends at PKRA (Phoenix) and P1 Circuit (Tucson) Arie has accumulated an almost perfect record of 2 pole positions and 3 wins, the latest one coming at the brilliant karting complex, P1 Musselman Honda Circuit in Tucson, Arizona.
On board his Mo’s Gold TM ICC 125cc / Alonso Kart Arie is training for opportunities coming his way for the 2010 season. “Karting is so important when it comes to keeping in race shape. The races here locally offer a lot of good competition so it’s great to mix it up and stay sharp at the kart track. I’ve had great battles with Nick Firstone and Nick Freytag, the footage on Vimeo is great!”

With Arie’s 2010 plans still uncertain he stays focused on what his goals are. “IndyCar is priority number 1! I plan on racing again next year, after being in the broadcast booth last year it made me hungrier than ever, it’s hard to watch other people race. I’m taking out my aggression out on the kart but hopefully I’ll be in a competitive seat for 2010.”
